Chelsea travel to Eastlands on Saturday with Toure admitting that Drogba is at the top of his game. In-form City have ground their way into the Champions League spots with boss Roberto Mancini drilling them on Italian defensive techniques.

Mancini’s men have conceded just two goals in eight matches so far this season. That means Joe Hart has been letting in one goal every six hours.

But that record will be tested by Blues striker Drogba as City’s credentials are put on the line. Drogba has already whacked in five goals this term as Chelsea have collected five wins from five games.

Ex-Arsenal man Toure said: “He’s a goalscorer. All he thinks about is scoring goals but this season he is passing well and making a lot of assists as well. That makes him a much better player. It seems like he is getting better with age.

“He’s had to change his game, he knows he needs more help from his team-mates now.

“He used to like to do a lot himself but now he shows he cares about the team and that’s really good.

“At the moment I’d say that he’s on fire. So we’re going to have to defend really well as a team to stop him.

“The manager wants us to work really hard every day in training because when you defend well, it gives you the chance to win games.”
